Professional Wrestling Promotion
If you are a fan of wrestling then you may or may not be aware of how far professional wrestling has come in recent years. However, if you are an older and more mature fan, who has been following the sport for a few years longer, you will probably be well aware of the revolution that has taken place in the world of professional wrestling promotion in recent years.
While wrestling was one of the dying sports of the world just a few short decades ago, it is now a thriving multimillion dollar industry that attracts millions of fans every week and has one of the most loyal and powerful fan bases in the world. Professional wrestling promotion has played a big part in this and this is also largely to do with the completely new and revolutionary way that professional wrestling promotion has decided to approach the challenge of promoting wrestling.
Gone are the days when two ordinary sized men faced each other on the wrestling matt wearing their wrestling gear. Nowadays, professional wrestling is as much a part of show business as a part of sports, with each wrestler adopting a unique character and role and having a complete persona which they uphold both inside and outside of the ring. The professional wrestlers that compete in for example WWE wrestling tournaments are almost as much actors as they are athletes.
However, this is not what a lot of people are talking about when they speak of professional wrestling and they would be pretty upset to see the great sport that they take part in being compared to the show business, pure entertainment that has occurred with WWE and similar wrestling tournaments.
However, the fact remains that for the vast majority of wrestling fans, and for most professional wrestling promotion specialists, it is the entertaining wrestling that they are interested in, and it is this area of the sport that is certainly attracting the most attention and money.
Maybe it doesn’t matter to the fans that many of the fights that they watch are completely choreographed or that what they are watching is far more akin to a soap opera than to a sports tournament, with athletes personalities taking precedence over their athletic performance. However, professional wrestling promotion is a business just like any other and therefore, perhaps it should not come as a surprise that this is the direction that wrestling has taken.
